Dr. Seuss, alongside many of his fictional characters.

Theodore Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield Massachusetts. After he graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, he enrolled in Lincoln College in hopes of a PhD in English Literature. He left school early without a degree, and was left submitted countless works to several magazines, newspapers, etc. No one knew that this young man would become one of the most memorable authors in history.

Oh, the Places You'll Go!

I know, this post can be considered childish. But Dr. Seuss still stands as one of the greatest authors in my mind. If he wasn't so remarkable, why do people of all ages still remember the books he wrote? At any age, you can sit down and pick up a copy of The Lorax, Oh, The Places You'll Go!, or Horton Hears a Who, and still be genuinely entertained. It was just so easy for him to be able to get a message across to his reader in a fun and exciting way. He never let go of his inner child, and that's what kept him so enjoyable. He explained real-life issues through child stories, which are lessons kept throughout a person's life. Thanks to him, we've learned to take care of the environment; to take on new experiences with an open, positive mind; and to never discriminate, no matter how different someone may be.

He inspired so many writers to write books in so many exciting and fun ways. A good author should never let their childhood spark die.
